might just be the book you are looking for. The writing is fast and funny and you will enjoy the ride around the 1850's with the abolitionist John Brown and his ragtag "army." The characters are real and you can almost smell the experience of roughing it on the lam with Henry, passing himself off as a girl, as he grows into a man.
